Strength & Conditioning

Strength & Conditioning

Strength and conditioning at KPI covers everything, from the gym to field- and court-based sports. For us, it represents the full spectrum of sports science, including coaching and programming, scheduling, monitoring, communication, and education. Whether we’re working face-to-face or online, in season or off-season, every detail of KPI’s strength and conditioning is aligned to performance.

We coach in the gym and in sporting environments, in programme-focused interventions and periodise training around competition cycles. We monitor internal and external loads using GPS, heart rate analysis, wellbeing questionnaires, weekly MOT-style check-ins, fatigue monitoring, wearables such as Whoop and gym metrics. Across youth, consultancy and elite sport, our focus is simple: maximise performance, minimise risk.

What is the KPI approach to Strength & Conditioning?

Strength and conditioning isare not identical for everyone. We ground our approach using cutting-edge sports science and years of applied experience across multiple sports. While strong foundations underpin every programme, there is no cookie-cutter template. The real impact comes from how we individualise every detail.

We work from the sport backwards in a reverse-engineering model. How does the athlete sprint, cut or change direction in competition? Through detailed profiling, we identify why they move that way and design precise interventions to perfect or enhance those qualities. We see training as long-term. Programmes evolve, but consistent application drives lasting results.

How is Strength & Conditioning delivered?

Our service is delivered through a blend of coaching and ongoing support. This includes face-to-face sessions, video call coaching, one-to-one training, and small-group environments. Every setting is purposeful, designed to deliver clarity, accountability and high-quality feedback.

Alongside coaching, athletes are supported through our online framework. This underpins daily development with structured programming, clear scheduling, detailed monitoring and open communication. Education is woven throughout, ensuring athletes understand what they are doing and why. The result is a system that supports progress every single day.

Who is it for?

Our strength and conditioning service supports individual athletes at every level, from aspiring youth players to established professionals. We also work with small, sportposition-specific groups where targeted development can produce meaningful gains.

We partner with clubs and organisations to enhance existing performance structures, and we support injured athletes as part of a wider rehabilitation process. Whether an athlete is in contract or between clubs, our role is to provide structure, direction and performance continuity.

Why does Strength & Conditioning work?

Strength and conditioning adds direction, detail and confidence to an athlete’s career. It works alongside the technical,  and tactical and psychological demands of team sport, sharpening the physical qualities that are often generalised in a team squad environment.

The difference is in the detail. One-to-one coaching allows us to observe, adjust and optimise every repetition. With comprehensive support systems, we leave no stone unturned. Athletes gain the reassurance that their preparation is precise, consistent and built around them.
