Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is often associated with injury recovery, but it’s not just for injured athletes. Fit athletes benefit from regular care to maintain movement quality and reduce the risk of injury.

At KPI, our physiotherapy sessions start with a detailed assessment. We learn how the body moves and any limitations it has. Treatments include sports therapy techniques and progressive programmes backed by sports science.

What’s the KPI approach to physiotherapy?

We have a detailed, performance-focused approach to physiotherapy. We assess injury history, medical information, and movement patterns to understand current symptoms better. This allows us to identify pain and dysfunction and why they exist.

We aim to resolve symptoms and improve movement quality while supporting long-term performance.

How is physiotherapy delivered?

Our structured one-to-one sessions assess movement, treat injuries and support ongoing performance. The process starts with a detailed evaluation and assessment.

Following the assessment, the physiotherapist may use a combination of hands-on physiotherapy techniques and sports therapy, such as soft tissue treatment and massage. Where appropriate, we also provide guidance on exercises to support recovery and maintain physical function.

We work closely with other teams, such as sports coaches, to ensure physiotherapy integrates into training schedules. Sessions are delivered on-site at KPI or within team grounds.

Who is physiotherapy for?

Our clients span professional, amateur, and youth athletes, as well as the general population. Clubs, schools and organisations can access our physiotherapy support.

Why does physiotherapy work?

Physiotherapy identifies and addresses the underlying cause of pain, injury or movement limitation. With detailed evaluation and assessment using technology and science, our physiotherapists can target the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms.

Using soft tissue treatment, massage, recovery methods and prescriptive exercise, we restore movement, reduce discomfort and support the body’s natural healing process. By improving movement quality and managing physical stress, our physiotherapy techniques help athletes maintain physical health and perform daily activities without pain and with a reduced risk of injury.
