At KPI, athlete profiling provides a detailed understanding of how an athlete moves, where their strengths and limitations lie, and how they perform in their sport. We use body composition, muscle-specific assessment, movement analysis, strength and power testing, and sport-specific performance metrics to build a clear picture of physical capabilities.
If you’re not testing, you’re guessing. Profiling frames your progress. Without it, athletes risk leaving performance gains untapped and increasing their risk of injury. Regular testing provides clarity on strengths, evidence of how training is working, and direction for what to focus on next.
At KPI, we focus on profiling around the individual, their needs and the demands of their sport. Our approach combines laboratory-level testing with real-world sporting context, allowing us to assess how strength, power, mobility and movement qualities interact during performance.
We assess across 10 key physical qualities: body composition, range of motion, movement control, gait analysis, power, strength, speed, agility, cardiovascular capacity and cognition.
At KPI, profiling is not a one-off snapshot. We retest every 12-18 weeks, using data to guide training, track progress and refine programmes. This ensures development remains targeted, measurable and aligned with the athlete’s goals.
We deliver athlete profiling through a structured testing process that captures a complete picture of performance. Assessments can include a combination of:
Testing is delivered in person at KPI or remotely via the KPI app, depending on the athlete’s needs and environment.
Following a detailed assessment, athletes receive a thorough breakdown of their profile, highlighting strengths, limitations and priority areas for development. The KPI team uses this data to inform training programmes directly.
Athlete profiling is for any individual seeking precision in their training. We work with athletes of all ages and levels, from youth players to elite professionals, across individual and team sports. Profiling is equally valuable for fit athletes, those returning from injury or preparing for competition.
Whether the goal is performance development, injury reduction or clarity in training direction, profiling provides the foundation for smarter decision-making.
Athlete profiling replaces guesswork with evidence. By continuously assessing how the body adapts, profiling allows training to evolve alongside the athlete. This leads to more efficient development, improved performance and reduced injury risk.
Without profiling, it is impossible to optimise performance fully.
Take the guesswork out of training and make proven performance improvements.
